As part of the merger in 2008 between Lincoln Youth Hockey and the Woonsocket North Stars the LYHA Scholarship fund is now managed by the North Stars. The scholarship is expected to be in place for 3 years. Current awards and payout plans are below (Based on qualified applicants)

LYHA Scholarship Application
Time Line of Events:
1. Posting in local papers and High Schools in April
2. Completed application and required information due by May 25th.
3. Committee selects candidates by June 15th
4. Student notified if accepted and check mailed in early August
FAQ:
Q: Who may apply for the Scholarship?
A: In addition to high school seniors, current freshman, sophomore and junior-year college students may apply. Also you must have played a minimum of 3 years for Lincoln Youth Hockey. The following programs qualify Learn to Skate, House league, Travel league, or Junior Development league (JDL).
Q: How will I know if my application has been received?
A: You will receive an email no later the 2 weeks from the date you have mailed the application.
Q: What is the award amount?
A: The current award amount is $750 dollars.
Q: How many scholarships are issued each year?
A: There will be two awards issued in 2011 and three each in 2012 and 2013. One will go to a graduate of Lincoln High School and the 2nd and 3rd will go to a graduate of any high school. The requirement of 3 years minimum in LYHA is mandatory.
Q: Who will the check be made payable to?
A: The check will be made out to the student or parent if requested.
Q: Do you need to be in a four year degree program to qualify?
A: This scholarship is good towards any continuing education/technical degree program.
Q: Who selects the scholarship recipients?
A: A Scholarship Review Committee appointed by The Woonsocket North Stars Executive Board selects scholarship recipients.
